Planning for a Thunder Pup

Thunder Pups Farm is a very low-volume Cavalier King Charles Spaniel preservation breeding program in Simpsonville, South Carolina, thoughtfully matching our puppies with families across the country. Our puppies are raised in our home and come from thoughtfully planned pairings of health-tested, genetically tested parents selected with an emphasis on health, temperament, breed standard, and genetic diversity. 

Our puppies are placed with families from a waitlist. If you are hoping to welcome a Thunder Pup into your family, we encourage you to contact us well in advance of your preferred timeframe.

Our breeding plans are thoughtfully made but remain subject to each Dam's natural heat cycle, successful breeding and pregnancy, litter size, and most importantly, the health and wellbeing of our Cavaliers.

Future breeding plans are tentative and may change based on health testing, natural heat cycles and the best interests of our Cavaliers.

Going Home With Your Thunder Pup

Our puppies go home with their families at approximately 8–10 weeks of age, with timing based on each puppy's individual development and readiness, as well as the distance and method of travel to their new home. 

Each Thunder Pup goes home with:

✓ Three age-appropriate veterinary examinations
✓ Age-appropriate immunizations and complete health records
✓ AKC Limited Registration
✓ AKC Reunite microchip
✓ Starter supply of Royal Canin puppy food
✓ Puppy harness and leash
✓ Familiar items to help make the transition to your home easier

Thunder Pups are placed as beloved companions on AKC Limited Registration, and breeding rights are not included. Limited Registration does not prevent you and your Cavalier from participating in many AKC activities, including scent work, rally, obedience and agility.

We encourage prospective families to review our Thunder Pups Farm Puppy Agreement before reserving a puppy. 

Bringing Your Puppy Home

Families are welcome to pick up their puppy with us in Simpsonville, South Carolina. We are conveniently located less than 20 minutes from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP).

For families welcoming a Thunder Pup from farther away, transportation may also be arranged through My Flight Nanny or a puppy nanny of your choice. 

Transportation arrangements and associated costs are the responsibility of the puppy's family.

We carefully select our Sires based on health, pedigree, temperament, breed standard, genetic diversity and how they complement each individual Dam. We believe in complete health transparency, so each Sire's health-testing results can be viewed by clicking the hyperlink on his full AKC-registered name:
